The Flag March is a Racist Tradition

The Flag March, an Israeli tradition that is held to celebrate the capture of East Jerusalem occurred this Sunday. The festival, which is led by Zionist Jews, turned out to be extremely racist towards Palestinians and Muslims. The marchers chanted phrases such as "Muhammad is dead", which were viewed as Islamophobic by the Muslim community. A small group of pro-Palestinian protesters attended the event, and were met with extreme hostility. Furthermore, many muslims grouped inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque to hide from the protesters, as they were so fearful of the marchers. Finally, the Israeli government violated an agreement with Al-Aqsa that banned marchers from visiting the mosque during Ramadan.
