Looking to get into Independent Film Making!
First I think I should start off with a *little* background. Ive actually grown up in the Video Industry, I have one parent who Produces and another that is a Cinematographer and Editor. Their business mainly consists of Corporate and Internal Communication, Large Production Furniture Store Marketing, Documentary Film Making, anything they could really dive into that was available to do. I started working with them when I was 13 years of age basically because in 2007 thats when they teamed up together to start their own Video Production Company in Northern Michigan. I started off as basically a Grip until I was 16 then I was able to film with the cameras we had. After High School I didn't go to College I had already decided by then that working with my Fam (and by then I had already edited hundreds of videos of multiple areas) is what I wanted to do. Its been a real trip and its all I've ever known. Its had its Ups and its most CERTAINLY HAS HADS ITS DOWNS, I have some STORIES LET ME TELL YA. So thats the extent of my knowledge in the field. Ive never worked on an Independent Film or Large Scale Film. What I really love is Production, Filming and Post. Ive never written a script for a movie but I as well as my Pals have some really rock solid ideas who actually really do love writing. !!!!Thus finally comes to my question!!!!
- What questions do I need to ask myself going into this process?
- What should my first steps be into Independent Film Making?
- What do I need to know?
Really I have so many questions and Im not sure exactly how to approach any of this. I would love to discuss! Any Questions would be helpful!
