Thinking of switching from IUD to Nexplanon

Hi all!

I’ve had a copper iud for the past two years and I’m beginning to realize it’s not for me. My periods have lengthened to a whole week, I’m immensely emotional and unstable and my cramps are near debilitating. I’m a full time student along with running two startups and being out of commission like that for a whole week every month is just not acceptable anymore.

I’ve heard some good things about Nexplanon but I’m a little nervous about it. I’ve never been on hormones before but I’m optimistic it might help my period related mood swings and general low grade depression.

Any kind words or advice would be welcome. I have an appointment to talk to my gyno next week about it as well :)
