Is de-ranking myself this way scummy?

So I started playing DBD on console about a week ago, and im sitting at rank 10 on killer. I only have hillbilly perks and havent unlocked the DLC characters yet but im planning to with iridescent shards. At rank 10, im taking ages to find games and when I do, its usually survivor groups that take 20 minutes for me to kill them all, so recently ive been going into games as Doctor, just shocking people, having fun, and letting people escape in order to get myself to rank 14 or 15. Is this bad?
