ZeroTier connection without client app

Hello homelabbers,

has anyone managed to connect a VM, O/S, to ZeroTier network without using the ZeroTier app ? After googling, it looks that it is possible to do it using a OpenWRT VM router. Has anyone tried that and it worked ?
