[NeedAdvice] Quitting reddit/hangouts to stop self destruction & wasting time
Okay, where do I start?
That's the problem - too many thoughts, too many options, too many things to do, feeling totally overwhelmed, wasting time.
Reddit is a perfect example and has become a problem. My communities list has over 100 subreddits. There's a few motivation/declutter/lonely/needafriend/improve debt/health ones but a fair amount of ones I wouldn't want my wife to see. I hop all over the place from one to the other and I'm screwing the synapses of my brain and hitting the unhealthy choices too often.
So there's the constant guilt I'm carrying. Not just what people might think but what I think about myself. It's all taking up too much of my time. I'm self employed and I've lost all discipline as far as time goes. Checking in on messages/karma/chatting to a few strangers. It's all going nowhere. Nobody knows me. That's how I want it, need it. And I know nobody. Yes, I'm lonely but I know nothing can come from anything here to improve that.
I've not had anyone to show me the gradual slide into shitsville and I now need to give myself the biggest slap and get the hell out of here, off of hangouts and try to hang onto what's left of my life.
I've got myself on some self destruction trajectory. I took on some contracted work which dragged on and on. Pay was fixed. Knock on effect was using credit cards until payments came in. It all got messy and outgoings were more than income. Wife never looks at bank account. Continues spending. Nothing extravagant - just essentials.
So what do I do?
- Stop wasting time and get back to work. I can't hang about here more than a couple of days to see responses/advice but then it has to stop.
- Get back in shape. A recent back and knee issue has slowed me down but I need to overcome that.
Any advice/thoughts/slaps would be welcome.
