I woke up to a rejection email this morning. I’m 22 and I already feel like a failure.

Lately I haven’t been getting enough hours or making enough money at the job I currently have, so I applied to the place my boyfriend works at. It would have been a $6+ pay increase per hour, but I guess I didn’t do well enough on the test part of the application. There were a lot of math questions on the test, and I haven’t done math in about 7 years. I’ve also never been strong in that area. I thought I did relatively well, but apparently not. When I was doing the test, my boyfriend was saying things like “you’ll do fine, the test is basically to weed out the dummies”. I told him that I got rejected and he’s being really supportive and saying that it’s for the best because we want to move in together, and if we both worked all those crazy hours, we couldn’t really get a dog. We really wanna get a dog when we move in together. He made me feel better. But then I remembered his comment about the dummies lol. I’m mostly disappointed because I’ve been feeling like a failure lately. I was in college for a year, but dropped out because I couldn’t pass one of my courses. I’ve gotten fired in the past because I was missing too much work for medical reasons, and mental health issues. I’ve been doing better at my current job, missing less work, and I really enjoy it. It just isn’t paying off my debt from school, or my car debt. Plus, I’m trying to save up for when I move in with my boyfriend. So I’m just at a crappy point in my life. Idk if I should go back to college, or find a higher paying crappy job for now. The job I got rejected for...It’s a car manufacturer, so not my ideal type of job, but I have a good amount of factory experience. Mostly with food production. But I don’t want to be stuck in a factory my whole life. I also don’t want debt from college, and I’m scared that if I try again, I’ll fail again, and it will be in vain again. I want to be debt free. I’m just in a bad spot in life right now and it’s got me kinda down, so I wanted to vent. Is anyone else feeling kind of stuck in life? Or does anyone have any kind of advice or words of encouragement?
