How do I train my ears for singing?

I've been getting into singing as a hobby lately w/ a vocal coach and my expert friends teaching me.

Recently, I spoke with a friend and asked for criticism and help about a recording I made.

My friend told me that most of my notes were off-note/inaccurate and stated that I need time to train my ears.

Is there genuine ways on how to do so?
