LEGO Ideas makes it clear.. We need an official Space theme.

No, I don't mean like the classic Space theme from the 80s and 90s, with aliens and battle ships, I mean REAL space. Real ships, real satellites, real rovers, etc.

Only 5 of the 28 released/announced LEGO Ideas sets have been based on spacecraft/prominent scientists (Women of NASA), but the popularity behind things like Space X rockets and just scale models of rockets in general on the Ideas website is pretty significant - it seems like every review period has a space themed set in it. Not to mention the recent Creator Apollo 11 Lander set and the 6 space themed City sets coming this year.

Clearly models of real-life rockets and space related technology are popular among LEGO fans, and could even be used as an education tool to touch younger builders about space and rockets.
