My youngest sister asked what Pride was yesterday

She went to tour the middle school with her grade and they had a Pride display. She’s 10. I don’t know if she knows I’m gay, But she is more aware of gay people than I was at her age because of the media she consumes.

I immediately had flashbacks to my mom telling me that I shouldn’t try to “educate” my sisters. My mom is Catholic and homophobic lol, I’m out to my whole family. Been this way since I was 14.

My 12 year old sister (she knows I’m a lesbian) who goes to the middle school asked if she meant pride in general or if she meant pride with rainbows lmao. We ended up just telling her it meant being proud of yourself.
