When did you realize Hobbes wasn't real?

It took me years. I saw a 4 panel where Calvin had anti-depresants where Hobbes was a toy.

That's when my mind went "huh? Wait a minute?"

Then I had that whole "sixth sense" experience. I reread a lot of the strips again.

For the longest time, I really thought Hobbes was a shapeshifting toy or something.

But kinda bittersweetmaturity. Does that make sense?
