Is there any way to stop Jagex from re-routing me through Las Vegas? (On Aus Servers)

A few weeks ago I was getting 42 ping on the Australian worlds. Now I get 200+.
I did a tracert and it's routing me to Level 3 communications in Las Vegas.

I read this is to stop DDOS attacks, but I'm not a DDOS'er . Is there a way to get myself off the completely unplayable for most of the time list? I'm not liking 250+ ping on almost every world.
