Cafe Mocha powder tastes nothing close to bottled

I'm not sure if I got a bad batch but I opened my first Cafe Mocha powder bag earlier and made one serving that tastes nothing close to the bottled version.

I don't have the vocabulary to describe, but it feels like it was burnt and extra malty. It's pretty disgusting, and I can't even tolerate more than a sip.

For the most part when I compared powder vs bottled, the taste difference is barely noticeable.

Has anyone else experienced this with cafe powder?
