MATCH EVENTS

1': We're off!

11': Diaby takes a shot from the edge of the box, but slices it wide.

13': Good chance for Ledezma! But misses the far bottom corner one-on-one with the keeper.

18': Chance for Weah! He evades his defenders and chips the keeper but the touch takes the ball away from him and he can't get there in time to put the ball in the net.

19': Cuisance fires with his left foot, but puts it wide.

22': SAVE! Fofana fires from distance and Scott has to have solid hands to make the catch.

23': MISS!! Cuisance fires a cross to Alioui and Alioui can't get his point-blank header on target. The cross was a tiny bit low and late in his defense.

25': GOAL UNITED STATES!! A lightning counter-attack by Richie Ledezma, who feeds Sebastian Soto with a perfect pass and Soto finishes perfectly one-on-one past the keeper!

37': Cuisance splits the defense and fires with his left foot, he hits the post! Unlucky

41': GOAL FRANCE!!! Amine Gouiri finishes a brilliant counter for France and beats the keeper one-on-one!

45+1': Diaby fires over the bar.

HT France 1-1 United States The US took a shock lead and held it for 15 minutes before the French equalized. All tied at the half.

46': We're back!

52': Diaby goes for goal! Puts it wide. French were calling for a handball on Keita in the buildup though, and we're VAR-ing it... okay, no handball, the arm was too close to the body, I guess is the conclusion

55': GOAL FRANCE!!! Diaby bombs forward and hits the woodwork, but the US defense can't make the clearance and Nabil Alioui wins the 50-50 challenge and puts the ball in the net!

60': SAVE! N'Dicka and Zagadou both going for the ball, the corner kick actually comes off Gloster and Scott makes the stop! (Another shout for handball there but again the arm was at his side, a much clearer no-call than the previous one)

63': United States double sub: Justin Rennicks and Ulysses Llanez on for Konrad de la Fuente and Richie Ledezma

64': France substitution: Lenny Pintor on for Nabil Alioui

69': Llanez has an explosive run forward and shoots from distance, can't keep it under the bar.

74': GOAL UNITED STATES!! A second for Sebastian Soto! Weah, mostly invisible this half, catches the backline off-guard with a perfect incisive pass to Soto who finishes one-on-one!

79': France substitution: Ibrahima Diallo on for Enzo Loiodice

83': GOAL UNITED STATES!!! Weah shoots and is blocked, it falls to Dest who tries from distance, Lafont makes the save but spills it!! And Justin Rennicks is there to knock in the rebound!

86': France substitution: Yacine Adli on for Youssouf Fofana

89': Soto almost rounds the keeper! Lafont does well to get his hands on the ball to prevent a goal that would've ended the game.

90+1': United States substitution: Mark McKenzie on for Sebastian Soto

90+2': Almost for France!! The free kick is whipped across face of goal, evading everyone and just going past the far post.

FT France U20 2-3 United States U20 I NEVER DOUBTED.
