Help a dumbass out.

So I got my set. But I'm having hard time understanding how to connect these to my Android phone. Please note that I'm dumb so pick your answers accordingly :D

I downloaded the app on my phone and it found the Panels just fine, I click on them and now it's asking me to select a wifi network? I get a list of 'available' wifi networks. What's going on here? I'm at a loss. I mean the app already found the panels (they showed up, like I said) why do I have to pick a wifi network? None of the guides or even the manual say anything about this. Do I need to locate my phone on the list? I don't think it's showing up. Yes, Wifi is set to on on my phone.
