[Discussion] Pride Month is a bit different when you are closeted...

Discussion

All over I've been seeing people share the story of how they came out to friends and family, pictures of people marching through the streets of their local town with rainbow flags draped over their shoulders, sharing kisses with their romantic partners.

There's even a Google Doodle today for the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

And that's all great. I'm smiling at this stuff secretly, away from the judging eyes of my homophobic parents who I might never be able to tell about my bisexuality.

And I'm cool with that. I'm about to start my final year of high school in the fall, when I'll be rushing to fill out applications for colleges hours away and for scholarships that will help me be able to pay for them.

I just want to tell anybody in a situation similar to mine that it's okay if you're not out going to pride parades or even out at all. It's okay if you can't celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, because you will be able to celebrate the 51st or the 55th or the 60th.

We will get there eventually, just be patient :)
