Vintage Backboard/rim from college team

Interesting story but one of my rental homes has a basketball goal in the backyard. It’s been rumored that it was from either the NC state 74 or 83 season. Previous home owner was a bigwig in the area and had ties to a big company. They are demolishing the backyard and I’d like to salvage the backboard and rim if it’s truly authentic.

Any identifying marks i need to look for? I am going to head there to take pictures and a closer look.
