Phone compatibility question for simcards

Hi all, we will be visiting Tokyo and surrounding areas again this fall. Last time we had rented a pocket wifi and while it was great, we needed to get two in order to split up our itinerary.

We still plan to rent a pocket wifi but was hoping someone here can chime in if they own a OnePlus 6T? I have model A6013 and the frequency check site says it supports band 1800 which should be good enough for LTE in japan, but the phone is listed as not compatible. I am wondering if perhaps someone has this phone and has used sim cards in Japan can offer some advice.
