Don't Feel Like I'm "Losing"
I'm making great progress so far (SW: 260/ CW: 209.5) and am reaping the benefits of a 50lb loss. I can see the progress, my clothes fit better, or are too big. I am down to sizes that I haven't thought of fitting in in years. And I think the best part is that I don't feel like I'm dieting, or following a program, or just weighting to hit maintenance. The lifestyle changes that I enacted just feel like living. I just finished my mid-morning snack of triscuits and havarti, and loved it! I had a realization that this might just work for the long run.
I have tried to lose weight many times in my life with varying results, none of them lasting. Right now, I'm just doing CICO, and logging everything into MFP. When I first started I was desperate to hit the goal calorie limit set by MFP and was distraught when I didn't. Now though, I've realized that as long as I stick to around 1400-1500/day and keep up with my exercise I feel great and am still making good progress. I think the fact that I haven't cut out any of the foods that I absolutely love, and that I'm not doing a more restrictive diet has helped me mentally to lose weight without feeling like I've lost anything else. Has anyone else had this experience?
