First time wearing faja...help

Any faja wearers here? I just got my first faja and tried to put it on and omg... I know it's supposed to be really difficult to put on and I remember with my first girdle thinking, this thing will never close....but it really seems like this thing will never close! I selected the correct size for my height and weight, and I come in somewhere in the middle of that size band, but I the clasps were a good 6 inches apart no matter how hard I tugged at them. I had the faja shipped to my job, so I just spent 15 minutes in the bathroom and came back looking all sweaty and suspicious...lol

I'm going to enlist my husband's help when I get home, but does anyone have any tips?
