I Can No Longer Sleep! What Should I Do??

I was up at 1am last night just feeling completely broken. I fear that I've done irreversal damage to my body and slowly over the years, my body has made it increasingly difficult to get a good night's sleep. I use to sleep soundly on my back, but found out I snore very loud, stop breathing. All the bad signs of sleep apnea. I found myself waking up not able to breathe. I transitioned to sleeping on my side which worked for awhile. Then it got to the point where I had to sleep upright in a recliner to feel like I was getting enough air. AT that point, I sought help from a sleep doctor.

I was diagnosed with moderate to severe apnea and given a cpap machine. Unfortunately, I found the thing uncomfortably and confusing with all the various cleaning instructions. I let it gather dust and got buried in bills from the clinic so I never went back to the doc.

Now the recliner trick isnt working. When I start to drift off, I get shortness of breathe and it's very alarming. I dont know what to do. I have to sleep. I'm thinking about going back to the sleep doc, but maybe I should see my regular doc first and get my heart checked out. I've been under tremendous stress and panic attacks lately so that might be a cause. I looked it up online and it says I might have congestive heart failure. ugh On the plus side, I can exercise intensely and not feel weak or light headed.
