MGS V: Is that true that Russians portrayed only as bad guys?
Hi, I haven't played Phantom Pain yet, and unfortunately don't have time right now. Really wanted to play it one day, esp when I heard that Kojima said that the game will be about war, hate between races, and misinformation (or something like that).
I know serious game about war would be really interesting, but my friend told me that Russians in the game portrayed only as bad guys, and often in your mission you need to kill them. Is that true?
I found on Wiki that one of the characters says something like "First there was a lot of asians, but Soviet sent more russians bc they won't hesitate to kill people of other race". That sounds like a very stupid line - conflicts in Middle East usually aren't built on premise of race, and it does sound like he wants to portray all Russians as racists.
I dont defend Soviet Union but I'm very disappointed if the game shows the war so one-sided.
I know the game isn't trying to be very historically accurate but it feels like some stuff Just made up to make one side look way worse than it already was.
What do you guys think? Is it a good game if I'm looking for a serious story game?
P.s. who is the main villain - some evil organization or Russians?
And let's keep it civil. Thanks
