I need help! Please. Beardie with toe issues!

I have about a maybe 6-8 month old beardie. When we had gotten him/her, the baby was about 4 weeks old. Maybe. No one could tell us. But we had to take him home because the conditions were horrible. The substrate the dragon had where we got him was small rocks glued to a rubber mat, where we found out you could get at most pet stores. Anyhow, I had bought a different mat WITHOUT the rocks for him. When we took him home, we had already noticed that one toe on the back leg was ripped off and one front toe on the same side (more than likely from the rocky substrate and being picked up or dragged off of it by previous pet store). His toes had gotten better over time as our vet told us to bring him in if he starts any symptoms like lethargy, not eating, noticeable infection (puss, lethargy, not eating, can’t shed, eye color change), and so on. So we’ve been giving him baths every 4 days or so, Cleaning his tank every week (also with wipeout, which is a bacteria killing reptile tank spray), calcium, greens, crickets, meal worms, temps are good in the viv. He’s pissy most of the time (I assume by the last owners-pet shop), but otherwise handles ok, seems happier. But his toes have gotten a little swollen and covered in white! Some people say it’s shedding, some people say it’s infection, but my vet keeps stating to watch for the symptoms and bring him in then. The closest other vet there is for reptiles is 4 hours away. Can anyone assist?
