There was an event. A singularity. It caused you to go from an average citizen to a being of immense and conceivably infinite power. The cost for your god like power. You completely absorbed your reality. The entire universe was sucked into your being. So you are the last of any mortal life. And with no ability to explore the multiverse. You find yourself lonely.

To keep your mind from falling to far from your sanity. You build yourself the perfect little island palace. An ever expansive ocean. Perfect sandy beaches. and a nice large house. But it's then you understand what it is that would make your existence whole. Wives. Wives with who you will produce many children. Who may roam the halls of your ever expansive palace.
