I'm pretty sure I'm being logical and it's not just strictly anxiety related.
My husband is trying to work outside and every time he's outside, one neighbor kid or another decides to come up and start talking with him and wants to help. I feel very uncomfortable with it. Elementary school aged kids have no reason to come up and just start talking with some adult outside. I'm not even sure if we've met their parents before. Our kids are younger than them and it would be different if they were playing together but they're not. They've also have asked to borrow our lawnmower. We've had our mower stolen before so it's locked away. I told them, no I'm not comfortable with that (I've never seen these kids before). Different kids came over when my husband was home and said they wanted to borrow it for their uncle. My husband said to have the uncle come and ask. Uncle never came by.
Here's the part I hope is just my anxiety, the last thing I want is for the kids to do something stupid on my property or try to help my husband and get hurt. We don't need a lawsuit just because they won't leave him alone. [I just told my husband this right now as I just finished writing this and he said he'll make sure he doesn't get hurt.] Is there a gentle way to tell the kids to go away? My husband just thinks they're bored with nothing to do but even I wouldn't my kids come up to adult neighbors and just talk to them with no kids and us not around.
