Why didn't anyone like "Gods of Egypt" (2016)?

I just watched Gods of Egypt and I can't understand why it has such a bad RT score. I actually enjoyed the film and couldn't find anything that would make it so bad. The only thing I could think of was the CGI, but I thought that was comparable to a lot of Marvel movies who get praised for their CGI. I haven't done any research to actually find out why people didn't like it but I was hoping if anyone here would be able to tell me. Or if they felt the same way I did (we're in this together). I'm actually a fan of the genre (Ancient culture fantasy type stuff) and always thought it'd be cool to have more of these films so it was disappointing to see no one liked this one. Thanks!
