OTBeat Burn heart monitor red light won't turn off

I left my OTBeat Burn Heart Monitor at the front desk to charge while I showered after class. On my way out one of the front desk associates handed it back and reminded me to shut it off to preserve battery. I noticed that the red light was on when she gave it back, but rushed out to get to work. In the car I tried holding down the button to shut it off, but it's stuck turned on with the red button constantly on. No matter how long I hold the button down, the red light won't shut off. I've only had this monitor for a little over a month and it hasn't given me any issues until this one... I couldn't find any posts on this, even when I googled it nothing describing this exact issue came up, but I apologize if it's already been covered on another post. Has anyone experienced this and did you find a solution? Thanks in advance!
