Kind of daunting that there are people out there with the exact experience that qualifies them to apply. Can’t imagine beginning to build a network and doing whatever it is that scouts need to do to become scouts.

We have a romantic view because we are fans but I'd imagine you are heavily trained and it's heavily structured so that findings are comparable scout to scout. I'm sure it's heavily filling out a form based which helps feed our analytical machines ie. StatDNA etc.

My sixth form class teacher's most prized possession at school was a framed rejection letter from Bury saying that they thanked him for applying for the post of manager but didn't think his experience with the school u15's was quite what they were looking for.
I'm tempted to apply just to get the rejection letter acknowledging nearly two decades of Football and Championship manager isn't enough.

I applied for a youth development job at my local club once by telling them how I topped Real Madrid in the club world cup with an MLS team full of only academy products in FM and they sent me a very nice rejection congratulating me on my accomplishment but informing me they had decided to go in a different direction.
