I made an entire archetype based on the amazing RPG known as Undertale, and I tried to make the effects practical while also representing the lore of the game.

Archetype

First of all, I'll talk about the basic strategy of the Deck. It's exactly like Undertale, you'll have to choose your path, will you kill everyone or will you spare everyone. And how do I do that? I give the deck a special mechanic, which are Pacifist Counters and Genocide Counters. These counters are generated by the two Pendulum Scales of the deck, Frisk and Chara. And obviously, they are what the deck heavily relies on.

So! Let's look at the cards.

Mt. Ebott - The Field Spell of the Deck.

Frisk and Chara, the two most important cards in the Deck.

Next up we have the Level 4 Squad, Papyrus, Undyne and Mettaton. Each of them has a disruption effect. Besides that effect, Papyrus is also a searcher, while Mettaton and Undyne has lore-related effects.

Then we have Flowey, he's the "Balelynx" of the Deck.

The two Main Deck bosses are Toriel and Asgore. Toriel is for going first, Asgore is the for for going second.

The fun just begins here. We have Alphys who has a recycle effect, which is also a reference to how she turned Mettaton from a ghost into a robot (and she did some "recycling" stuff alright). Not only so, you may have noticed, she's a Tuner! So here's Mettaton EX, the fan favorite. His first effect is an upgrade from the original Mettaton, and the rest are references that he's stronger with a bigger audience.

Then, we get closer to the end of the game! The Final Boss of the Neutral Path, Omega Flowey is here. His effect wipes everything in his path while also completely resetting the game.

Then, we head to the Pacifist path, here's Asriel, which effect will be connected to the next monster.

...that is Asriel God of Hyperdeath! After Asriel awakened, he absorbed everyone's souls (except Frisk) so that is why he's a Fusion Monster. I made him a Contact Fusion so you can bring him out easier without relying on a Spell.

Then, finally, we reach the end of the Pacifist Path, with Asriel's final form. His effects are based on the first and second sequence of his fight.

Now, we head to the Genocide Path! Remember Undyne's effect? Well, if you use her, the Token, and Alphys, you can make Undyne the Undying! The only reference here is that she's a freaking beast.

Next up, Mettaton's final form, Mettaton NEO! This was a disappointment in the game so I decided to make him that too here. BUT! He has potential.

And finally, everyone's favorite, our good buddy Sans. His effect is based on his Judgment, and obviously the final effect is Genocide-exclusive.

Note: I didn't draw these arts, so I will absolutely take no credits for them, all credits go to the original artists for drawing these beautiful arts, also credits to Toby Fox for being an amazing person and making this beautiful game. Finally, thanks everyone for take the time to read this. I really appreciate it.

I really like that you were able to make them viable to a certain degree while keeping the references to the game!

I did notice a mistake, Undyne's token should be only once per turn, the text just says it can be summoned while there are at least 3 genocide counters on the field.

I really love the premise and the theme here. Very well done. The only way I could like it more is if you expanded on it. There are plenty of other characters to throw into the mix. The other Children and Gaston come to mind. Things like Chara's locket would make for great S/T support as well.

Thanks!

I really wanted to do a lot more, but I felt like 18 cards is already a bit too much so I decided to stop :P And yeah the children's equipments would make great S/T support.

I really like the effort and thought that went into this. Everything looks very well made. Unfortunately I have not played the game so I don't get the references though.

Thanks! And the game is really good! The fandom is a bit... strange? but it doesn't make the game any worse so I recommend you to check it out in your free time!

Yeah I'm well aware of how bad the fans are. Game just kind of went under the radar for me.

2
ReverscaleOP•

Yeah, it's quite sad that the fans make the game looks bad.

Thank you, very cool.

So is mettaton NEO supposed to half the opponents LP instead of dealing damage, or in addition. Because how the card is written, that might be what happens.

ReverscaleOP•

He halves the opponent's LP before dealing damage.

Like the Cubic Fusion.

Totally won't be used in OTK strategies.

The first effect is mandatory.

Unless they go out of their way to negate it without destroying it, he's not attacking soon

alright i got something. its a 2 card possible OTK with metaton NEO. technically you need 3 cards, but one of them only needs to be a zombie monster. whether or not this is an OTK depends on what your opponent has on their field.

go second. have "Uni-Zombie", one level 4 zombie type monster, and one "Ancient Forest" in hand (or any card that changes from defense to attack position that can be used immediately). normal summon "Uni-Zombie", use its effect to discard 1 level 4 zombie type monster, then to increase the level of "Uni-Zombie" by 1, making its level 4. then use the second effect of "Uni-Zombie" to increase the level of 1 other monster on the field, and send 1 "mezuki" from your deck to the graveyard. use the effect of "mezuki" to banish it from the graveyard, and then special summon the level 4 zombie type monster that was discarded earlier. synchro summon using "Uni-Zombie" as a tuner, in order to get "Mettaton NEO". activate "Ancient Forest", changing the battle positions of all defense position monsters on the field. If you have gotten this far because your opponent doesnt have any negations on the field, attack and hope your opponent doesnt have any battle traps/spells (which is not likely in todays meta).

like i said, wether or not it OTKs depends on the situation. but all you need is a zombie deck and a one off card to make this consistant. there are likely other combos that go into level 8 synchros, and are compact enough to allow for cards that can change its battle position. my suggestion: put a restriction that says "this cards battle position cannot be changed during the turn it is summoned."

EDIT: although, wether or not this is a bad thing is up to you.
