in a book that I read it talked about how various "left" causes managed to gain ground in the first half of the century by allying themselves with other causes which may have had different agendas but were ultimately still fighting the same power structure. It made for much larger numbers, and a diverse/active community when it came to actual action. In that sense, I think the LGBT association is a great thing for leftists. Of course, it'd be no good of our cause eclipsed theirs, but ultimately it's fighting the same people for different causes.
