I love this article on the problem with men who play ‘devil’s advocate’ against feminism.
It makes so many good points about people who feel the need to play devils advocate and reinforce the status quo.

It reminds me of flying monkeys who might not initiate the abusive act themselves, love defending it and layering more abuse on afterwards. They are often brainwashed , or as your article points out well, uncomfortable with any disruption to their status quo.
