Announcing the 1st Sub Splatfest!

So a few weeks ago u/kuletxcore mentioned this megatrove of squidified characters from KnowYourMeme. While we're very eager to revel in such transformative works, almost none of the images have sources! Not even the names of the artists.

For the past few days/week, most images I've posted have come from that compilation. But it's tiresome work to find the sources of those images—even while on desktop, doing the reverse imaging and such—and sometimes, the source of an image appears to be lost to time.

======================

Which is why I'm asking you, the viewer, to help out! It will be our first major subreddit project: our goal is to source every image from that compilation (or at least add the true artist's name to their artwork), and post them all here!

I'll start, from the bottom (oldest) up. I'll let you guys to decide which other portions to cover!

A few guidelines before submitting

• If you see an image that has already has been posted before, on r/thereiswoomyofit, try not to repost it. It's less fun to see an image twice from different users. Try to find something new, and there are plenty of amazing images untouched by this community!

• If you find a direct link or source, please use link posts when submitting to give the artist some much needed love!

• However, if the artist deleted their post or accounts and therefore you can't find the original source—even after scraping the depths of reverse image search—BUT you have the original artist's name, then you can post the image direct with the artist's name in title. You don't even have to post the source link, although you'll need to state that it's for this project and explain how/why you couldn't find a source.

• But if you can't find the artist's name either, it sadly has to be removed because that's considered a mission failure, not a mission success. This includes using a reposter's username instead of proving they're the actual artist, or lying about finding no source when there is one.

Other than that, let's get this project rolling at all due speed, and work together to bring our squiddo/octo creators the credit and attention they deserve!

Happy hunting, and stay off the hook!
