Thanks for the tip. Will be checking it out, I do like Manga and this also seems to be a 'bittersweet' story of a dog's life.

Laika is one of my all time favorite graphic novels. It tells the story of Laika, the Soviet street dog who becomes one of the first animals in space and the first animal to orbit the Earth. The story is a fascinating insight into the Soviet space program juxtaposed with the life of Laika and her carers. Both interesting and poignant, it's a masterpiece. Published by First Second books.

Thanks 😁 I plan to post more over time. I think it's a simple way to highlight some great reads that others might find interesting and worth checking out. Its all subjective of course, so I hope to give enough info for others to decide whether it's their thing or not.

Love your brief thoughts! I don't gravitate towards nonfiction or biographies often when it comes to comics, but the subject matter of a dog in space is too interesting. I'll be sure to check it out!
You might like it then as its a pretty highly fictionalized biography. Pretty enjoyable.
It's not strictly non-fiction. Stuff has been added to 'fill the gaps' and also make it more of a story rather than a straight history lesson.
