(SC) Which mid rookie to trade in: J.Hately or N.Hind?

Hately (GWS - $148.8K) looks like a gun. Can score big (2 scores of 90) and will probably make 80-120K if he can play the next couple of rounds. Unfortunately his job security seems piss poor and while he's been named to play this round I wouldn't be surprised if he was dropped next wk or the wk after with Whitfield getting healthy.

N.Hind (StK - $117.3K) is cheaper but only has one good score and one subpar one (90 and 43 and he needed 3 goals to score the 90). Probably won't make much money but on the otherhand seems to have better job security with the Saints being dogshit and not having any reason not to play the young guys.

Definitely bringing in Logue down back so have to choose one of the above as my other trade. Can't decide. I'm leaning towards Hind purely because the scoring potential of Hately isn't worth shit if he isn't getting games but SURELY Leon Cameron has to give Hately a decent run of it? He's been a monster in 2s and the 2 games at AFL has more than held his own.

Yeh good point. How many trades you got left? I think if you're on 10 or fewer and you're still 3 or 4 players off full premo you have to prioritise freeing up cash now + grabbing premos asap.

Hately will make 80k this week alone. That will cover the difference in price between the 2. He's also shown to be more consistent than Hind (small sample size but still...)

And as mentioned above, De Boer is out for a while so Hately 'should' hold his spot for now

The big Q mark is Whitfields return and whether or not Hately is the one that goes straight out for him. So far this season it hasn't taken Cameron much to yank Hately out of the lineup in favour of others and if Whitfield is back in a wk Hately isn't worth it.

I’ll be trading in hind this week.

I’m tackling this exact same question myself

It's doing my head in. Whoever I pick will be the shit one guaranteed.

Let me know so I can go the opposite

Most likely going conservative and go Hind...for now.

Hately has been knocking down the door for weeks now. First emergency every week

He’s just been victim to GWS midfield strength.

De Boar is now injured for 8 and the smart choice is for hately to replace him so imo his security has gone way up. If he keeps scoring well I don’t see him being dropped

Will Hately be forced into a tagger role though that's the big Q. If he is then Hately might be like Clarke at Essendon, can go big SC wise and be a high possession midfielder but if he's told specifically to do a negating job on an opposition mid he'll hardly register SC points.

The problem with Hately is Whitfield is 1-2 weeks away, I doubt he goes to a run with role.

Yeh Whitfield coming back in that time frame worries me.

I’m leaning towards Hately, I’m not sure about both of their job security but I might get a quicker cash rise from Hately.

I mean Clarke posted 90+ while tagging Cripps

IMO if they are naturally an accumulator they will get it.

But I guess this is a risk you take. They may try it but it’s rare a first year player is effective at tagging

Because Hind is cheaper he will make you an extra $40K now while Hately might make you more than that back in 3 weeks. I would take Hind for more money now.
