it's not good, I believe they said on commentary that it had a sub .500 win percentage. he got carried by his teammates.

Well [[Fanatical Firebrand]] does give you a proactive way to get rid of [[Bridge from Below]] so it's not nothing.

I saw him play it. It was built to have game against Hoggak, 10 of the board cards and the Firebrands are there for that reason. It seemed to run out of gas against everything else though.

Skewing your deck that much to beat bridgevine just isn't worth it.

I would agree.

Well. Interesting. Certainly not good though.

I think getting more explosiveness with shard volley is a good idea with bridgevine being so popular.

Playing firebrand and luts negates every speed advantage that we get though. Staying mono red also doesn't help that much. Playing 8 canopy lands is nice when games go long, that's simply not the case in modern though.

How does the average damage of this build compare to the average boros damage? Also you win 4 more bolts by playing the monkey with skewer. The monkey itself is good against any creature based deck and also in a T3,5 format better than any bolt. It also exiles bridge if necessary without losing another card. As you said shard volley compares well to both helix and charm and gets marginally better if you don't thin your deck.

In my opinion this list has several things going for it which this sub fails to recognize.

Much more interested in this list that went undefeated on Day 1 in Dallas. https://twitter.com/channelfireball/status/1145330894116458496?s=21

Am I missing something? They are playing one Sunbaked Canyon and two Fiery Islet, despite being RW?

There’s a stomping ground in there as well for the G in the side. Guessing the RU islets go w the scalding tarn as a psyche out?

That's a very poor decision to play Islet over Canyon. There's no good reason to do it. I understand only having 1 Canyon if they only had access to one, but those Islets should have been fetches.

I agree. Maybe card availability caused this. Your thoughts on the green splash for the side?

Does undefeated mean 9-0? Also it didn't make it to top 8?
