My life is starting to change. For the better.
I’m a 28 year old guy living in Southern California. And for the last two or three years I’ve been stuck in a rut. I haven’t really thought I was going to make it in life or really get this whole, “adulthood” aspect of life. Never really been financially responsible. I make really good money but don’t have much to show for it besides art, festival wristbands, and functional glass art. I should have a newer truck, live on my own, and generally be in a better part in my life. But I have slacked off and made it harder for myself.
But for the last year I have really been taking the time to work on myself and my life so it would improve for the better. I started saving money, stopped frivolously spending money on stupid things I don’t really need, and stopped going to so many music festivals. I’ve been to one this year and had the most amazing time. I have also started working on the financial aspect of my life as well. Working my credit up, saving money like I said, and eating out less and less. And it’s really helped my life grow.
Yesterday I got a call from my work asking me to fly out to North Carolina to structure a team out there for the line of work I’m in, I’m a sub contractor for At&t, for four weeks coming home on the weekends. This is such a huge opportunity for me and will look so good on my resume. This will open up so much more work for me later on in life and I can’t be more stoked for this opportunity.
And then today, I got a call from one of my buddies I’ve been trying to move out with. He told me that the house we applied for called him and we got the place, and we move in in a week. Me and my two buddies have been trying to move out together for the last two years. And we finally did it. We finally are going to be living together.
So, all in all, what I’m trying to say is my life has made a really drastic improvement over the last year. All for the better. And all in short amount of time. I feel like I’m finally getting a hold of this whole, “adulthood” thing. And I kind of like it. I haven’t smiled this much in a long time or felt this confident for my future. I’m so happy and wanted to write this as my first post here. My family and friends are extremely happy for me which makes this so much better.
