Since Tinder is a "let's meet up just to bang" app I'm curious as to why any aces would use it.

It’s not exclusively sex. Dating is a thing.

Really? I honestly thought it was just a hook-up app. Today I learned.

In theory I think it's supposed to be a general-purpose "dating" app, but in practice most of its userbase seems to treat it as a short-term "hookup" app.

That result probably shouldn't be too surprising considering they designed the UI specifically to cater to superficial people who decide whether or not they want to be with a person solely based on a quick glance at the picture :p

IIRC, I saw a post on here a last month saying that Tinder actually finally added an option to identify as ace. Given the nature of their established community and their overall business model, it may be too little too late for them, though, IDK.

I was also under the impression that the were just a hook-up app. I agree that it's too little too late for them to include aces. Besides, nobody reads your effing profile, they just look at your pic as you said. I went on OK Cupid and, despite making it incredibly clear that I am asexual and in a relationship, I got a bunch of guys who wanted to smash. One guy set up a lunch thing with me and then he read my profile. He was all "wait, you have a boyfriend? Does he let you date??" Um no? I thought it was just a friendly lunch. It was so weird and awkward.

it's good to feel desired

True, but I'm not down with the sexual part of it.
