Lag where character ends up in random spots.

Question

Does anyone else have this issue? I installed and uninstalled and reset my router. I have fios and everything else works just fine. When i play this game it lags like crazy and this is extremely frustrating and puts me off. Does anyone have a fix?

Happens all the time on Xbox One X, happens more frequently when someone on the server has a bad connection, its server lag basically

You have the exact same problems exact same place, same internet, SAME EVERYTHING I thought I just had shit luck and got the worst of it, just one other question though, do you teleport under your ship or to the bottom of the ocean too? I’ve tried hiding on moving ships just for the game to be like “ok you’re down here now” while sleep emoting

went under the ship once. other times i died from snakes cause i overstepped them. this really is disappointing i wanted to try this game for a while, luckily i got it through game pass.

You using a VPN or anything? I get a little choppy when playing on overseas servers (I'm on the east coast).

Usually only have this issue if I'm on oceanic or some middle eu servers (250+ping)

not at all. it's breaks the immersion for me tbh but others have said its par for the course. i guess the games not for me.

I'm convinced this is a console issue.

I play on PC normally and don't experience much rubber banding or teleporting (it does happen, just very rarely). However, the AC went out in my complex the other day and I've been relegated to console only so that I don't burn out my graphics card with the ambient heat, so it's console SoT for a while, or so I thought...

.. HOLY HELL IT WAS UNPLAYABLE. Rubberbanding and teleporting everywhere, laggy inputs across the board, skeletons disappearing and reappearing, and that one time it just dumped me off the wheel to the bottom of the ocean while my ship sailed off without me. If you thought hit registration was bad on PC... brother, you need to try it on a console. The missed-strike delay will more or less randomly stop you from fighting, even if you're completely surrounded by skeletons and hit one, it'll still act like you missed and give you the thousand cuts in retaliation. I even had one skeleton that took 3 sword slashes, lunged me on the third hit, then took the damage from my sword as I died; it looked like a ghost attacked him and killed him in revenge.

Again, I never see stuff like this on PC. I do see occasional issues and ping spikes, but nothing on this order.

Specs:

  • Gaming Rig: i7/8GB, 1060/3GB, Common graphic settings on all options

  • Xbox One: Standard 1TB edition

  • Both wired direct to router: XBox One has a 6' Ethernet and PC has a 12' Ethernet

Yeah, I'm really sad about it. It's a good game that is progressively getting worse.
