Remember when

Useful

The first day Apex launched, it was amazing, it rejuvenated First person shooters and the BR community.

Apex was the first BR I had ever played, that feeling of excitement I hadn’t gotten since the real Call of Duty days. Vigorous game play and tactical decisions.

Just throwing a reminder out there, Incase anyone forgets why they stick to this game, and why they love it. Apex took the gaming community by storm, the up’s out weigh the downs.

Me too I used to play fortnite but I hated it but I played it for my friends but when apex dropped it was just awsome I instantly fell in love and the game was easy I immediately understood every thing and I love it.

This was literally me but when it dropped i was done with BR games. My friend begged me to download it so i did. I remember my first game perfectly. I joined my friend not expecting too much, i complained about the cursor system (im on xbox so it was new and wierd to me), i chose pathfinder (missed nearly every grapple that game) and somehow i came second. The ring ended in the artillery tunnel that leads to cascades. I remember saying 'ok. I joined not expecting much, but this game is phenominal. The graphics are polished and clean, the characters have their own unique personality and im already in love with this game'. I only started playing seriously around a month ago but ive had so much fun on this game and i hope that it stays relevant for years to come.

Might be cos im on xbox one x tho. I played briefly on the normal xbox one and and the graphics are similar but the render distance is shocking.

I love this game so much, I started playing the 3rd day after Apex dropped, I'll never forget that my first "Main" was Bloodhound or that my first win with him (?) was at Cascades with a Spitfire, I was only level 32.

Don't really care whether or not they add a solo or duo mode but the #1 thing I really want is a 4 man Squad mode, I would be so happy.

I went to "I hate BR's especially Fortnite" to "Omg Apex is awesome, Respawn marry me"

It did, and then it floundered and (probably) won't ever reach the same heights. It's a shame, but I'll keep playing it. Definitely miss week one though, played with do many friends I hadn't talked to in years

The ups definitely outweighed the downs until the lagging got so bad that it was almost impossible to play. The ups outweighed the downs until they added elite and it was literally a completely different game. The ups outweighed the downs until you keep getting kicked back to lobby or to the Xbox home every other time you try to join a game. And the map just feels off to me. It just isn’t the same game it was in the first few months. I still enjoy playing as much as anyone but no one can deny how drastically different this game has played in the last month.

It's fine to be excited about a game, look at all the positives and still enjoy it but posts like this remind me why I try to be reserved in my hype or excitement in games.

Saying Apex rejuvenated First Person Shooters is false since it essentially uses the same movement system from TF2 minus wall running and that came out in 2016. Other FPS's have done complete 180's in Rainbow 6: Siege. There's plenty of examples of games that are still successful or more successful than their launch.

Apex is not one of them with lower player numbers and the current plethora of problems with the Ranked scoring system, code:leaf/net, Alternator, etc.

So please, again, it's okay to be excited, remember that the past successes of a game should not overshadow problems in the same game in the present. This is why games like NMS can come out and be nothing that was advertised with developers and spokespeople openly lying to it's consumers, and still bafflingly bounce back and get "praise" for features it was supposed to have in the first place.
