For S&G, looking at some Duos per 100 Possessions... wondering "per 100" how the new Clippers duo compared to older Clipper duos.

PG13 @28 : 35.5 / 10.3 / 5.2

Old Look Clips 2011-12:

CP3 @26 : 29.3 / 5.4 / 13.4

Blake @22 : 30.8 / 16.1 / 4.7

Former Clippers & Their New Pals 2018-19:

Blake @29 : 34.6 / 10.7 / 7.6

Drummond @25: 25.5 / 22.9 / 2.1

or

CP3 @33 : 23.9 / 7.0 / 12.5

Wtf at Harden.

Why do stats love him so?

Is it his ability to get FTs?

A shooting foul is the most efficient outcome of any shot you can take, so probably. Harden is probably statistically one of the most efficient players ever.

It is especially if you can shoot close to 90% from the line. Lebron shoots only 73% in his career.

I’m not worried tho, Harden’s game always falls off in the playoffs, hence why he’s got 0 rings.

Harden doesnt fall off in the playoffs. He averaged 35ppg and a ton of assists in the Warriors series. They just stopped the rest of his teammates this year.

Harden's game absolutely falls off during the playoffs.

Harden's career numbers:

24.4.60992.021.9121.9.2246.80.37.159.9

Harden's playoff career numbers:

22.3.57910.53.914.3.1695.60.86.48.4

If you look at the comparisons between his regular season stats versus playoff stats in each season, the difference is even more clear than the career averages. Now Harden doesn't suck by any measurement in the playoffs, its just a fact that Harden goes from being top 3 (sometimes even the best) in the regular season to being only top 5 or top 10 in the playoffs. In fact, most players do worse in the playoffs than in the regular season, that is expected because they are facing tougher competition in the playoffs.

However, when you look at the truly elite players like Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Kawhi Leonard etc, these players have actually elevated their playoff stats despite playing against better competition. It shows that these players were probably somewhat holding back and preserving their energy in the regular season and that they were able to flip the switch and play even better when they need to. This is what separates the truly elites versus merely being great in the regular season.

Even for LeBron a foul would be the most efficient shot on an attempt. He’s a career 54.8% field goal shooter inside the arc, which is an average of 1.096 points per shot. With a foul, and him shooting at 73% a clip, he’d average 1.46 points per shooting foul.

You’re right about his career 2pt field goal percentage. However, if we break it down even more, Lebron shoots 73.4% on shots within 3 feet from the basket. So that’s pretty much the same as his career FT%.

My point is that the greater your disparity between your FT% versus your efficient FG%, the more important or efficient it would be for you to draw fouls. Harden and Curry both draw fouls and hit them at elite rates.

Thought so. Take away that and see what happens.

Taking away FTs from harden would be worse than taking away 3’s from Curry. He’s a master at his art

Harden with 0 fts this game still leads the game in scoring. Harden not drawing free throws would also mean hes not getting touched while being defended, so hed be getting way more open looks.

I wont stand for this Harden slander.

Because he’s really good
