That’s for all of FIFA. The US women bring in more than the US men and are paid a fraction.

Please link a study not an opinion piece that requires me to subscribe to read.

Also the language is suspicious, in the paragraph it shows it says "equal gate revenue". But that isnt the entire picture. A majority of the revenue actually comes from ad time. Ad price goes off of viewer count and the men's viewer count vastly outnumbers the women's viewer count. So just focusing on gate revenue from game admittance is intentionally dishonest.

Then again, men were the ones who played sports for decades and popularized them, the male fifa World Cup and competitions are watched more and get more funding, allowing for better play for their players than women

Fuck Dana Loesch. Maybe if she, or OP, took into consideration WHY that discrepancy exists, we might see understanding here. Instead of more bullshit.

Women's soccer is boring. They get 13 percent of revenue when the men get 9.

How it's it different from men's soccer?

I know why! Its institutionalised sexism that values “womens work” less than “mens work”! Anything from cooks, cleaners, teachers and nurses are paid far less than their masculine counterparts

Anyone who read this and believed the USMNT pulled in $6 billion in revenue... think. Please.

Dana Loesch would not purposely post misleading information. How dare you

Did she mean USMNT pulls in 6billion or all mens soccer worldwide? She just said men

edit: yeah, she means worldwide, shes quoting fifa on the total revenue from the mens world cup in russia, which was 6billion dollars compared to 131million from the womens world cup

Pretty sure the USWNT sold more jerseys and goods this year than then men have in a few years combined.

Washington Post Article:

“Looking only at game revenue, USSF’s own financial statements make clear that the women’s team has held its own in comparison to the men’s team since fiscal 2016.”

...... “The USWNT did make more in bonuses and salary than the USMNT in fiscal 2018, according to our estimates, but it’s worth noting they also played almost double the number of games and won significantly more often.”

...... “It’s tough to make a straightforward comparison of the earnings for men and women players, because the two teams have different collective-bargaining agreements that outline different pay structures. The teams play different numbers of games each year and earn different bonuses depending on the game type, their opponents’ FIFA rank and the game’s outcome. On top of that, both teams can earn additional bonuses for winning specific tournaments. And certain events, such as the World Cup, have a separate bonus structure entirely.”

...... “Total prize money for the Women’s World Cup in 2019 is $30 million — the champions will walk away with about $4 million. For contrast, in the 2018 Men’s World Cup, the champions won $38 million from a total pool of about $400 million. In other words, the champions from the men’s world cup were awarded more than the total prize money in the women’s tournament. So there’s no question that there’s a huge gap in earning potential here.”

“The new [CBA] agreement has provisions that may reduce the difference in bonuses for friendly games and tournaments, but there is — without question and for whatever reasons — still a massive gap between men’s and women’s World Cup bonuses.”

Anyone else feel like they're in an alternate reality when they hear one of the biggest arguments in America right now is about.....soccer? George Best, Pele and Johan Cruyff tried but couldn't make soccer huge in America. It's taken a great womens team and a lady with purple hair insulting an idiotic orange guy in the whitehouse to sell soccer in America, strange times, I thinks it's prob gonna be a good thing for soccer worldwide though, if America really start to get in to it, it can only boost the game worldwide I think

The USWNT is not paid by fifa.
