I've seen many posts here where it's done incorrectly i.e. cutting the finished side and I thought this should be a mandatory knowledge when starting keto. Don't damage your belts folks!

I actually leave it long, to remind me of where I've been. It wraps to almost the middle of my back now.
Honestly for anyone losing weight, I highly recommend a company like grip6 - my boyfriend has 2 belts from them and they are super convenient when losing weight.
I have two 'seat belt' style belts - but unfortunately though they work well, their maximum size is not that big.
This is great and I am definitely ready to shorten my belt but I’m going to cut and finish it on the other end (I do leather working as a hobby) and punch some new holes so it looks newer and the bent up crappy end is just cutoff altogether. My big old belly did a number on this belt and I aim to keep it.
Screw on the buckle side makes it easy. I had belts that were stitched loops or riveted. Went to a shoe repair place, they made new holes, cut the excess from the narrow end and melted the cut edge to make it smooth. $5. I preferred the broken in belts and not new stiff belts. May do that when I get to goal weight though.

A drill is all that needed or a punch and a hammer.
I think I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've worn a belt. Good on ya to educate, though.

I've got 2 nice bullhide gun belts (brown/black) and I think I'm in the middle hole on them. They were about $80-90 each. :|
