Sweating/overheating (Zoloft)

Question

I've been on Zoloft just over a month and pretty much every day for the last week or so I've been pouring sweat and feeling too hot, even when it's not. For example, I'm currently outside in an unzipped sweater, tank top and jeans. It's cloudy, 15 degrees with a chill on the wind, and I have sweat pouring down my back and chest. Physically dripping.

It's disgusting and frustrating. I feel way too hot constantly and I've had a resurgence of my anxiety symptoms as well.

Dose: 100mg, doctor wants me to up to 150mg.

I’ve got this and I’ve got to have my armpits Botox’ed to not have them dripping everywhere no matter the temperature. Fun teenage years.

Tell the doc. You might need more time to adjust or maybe the dose is too high right now. You might need to switch to a different med.

Zoloft gives me night sweats while asleep but it actually stopped the sweating during the day (reduced anxiety I guess).

I’ve also heard that an antihistamine can reduce the effects, but I’m not sure about that. Also if zoloft already makes you sleepy an antihistamine could put you out real quick.

Are you me? Ive been fine for a good month with occasional night sweats however yesterday and today have been unreal. Sweating on my scalp and top of my forehead down my back.

Same. I just started 50mg of zoloft 4 weeks ago and I'm so sensitive to warm temperatures now. My apartment has a window air conditioning unit and I keep it set to around 67°F and keep a fan blowing on me at night, but I am still too hot to sleep with covers most nights and I feel so warm all the time. It sucks. Lucky I have never been one to sweat very much, so I'm not sweating a whole lot, but I still feel super uncomfortable a lot of the time. My anxiety is a lot better, but I'm just so warm so often.

You are going to sweat a ton more now. I hardly produced any sweat prior to me going onto Zoloft, even while exercising, and now I drip sweat. Sorry!!

I’ve been on Zoloft for almost 6 months. Unfortunately it’s a known side affect. It’s really annoying as we come into summer.

Apart from the discomfort, just know that fresh sweat doesn’t smell so don’t let that worry you!

This has happened to me on and off on so many different medications - it’s gross but hang in there. Anxiety usually makes it worse for me personally. Sometimes extra showers just help to make you feel better when you can’t control it.
