I’m interested in this topic too, so have avidly been reading the related news.

Of the people posting here, it feels to me like 50/50 success/failure is a reasonable summary of the current state of affairs.

It's not really a "rumor" an MSI rep said on their reddit new bios could come as early as Friday, which turned into "its coming Friday"

I was able to flash with a 32 GB USB 3.0 drive. However, the drive MUST use a msbios (MBR) partition table. The standard GPT partition table won’t work. In addition, partition the drive as a single FAT32 partition. This worked for me. With the GPT partition table, it flashed once and did nothing.

Initially no problem, shut down for the day reboot following day no post, CPU led lit.

Constant power cycling with power button eventually got it to boot and I'm not shutting it down until new bios drops as it works great until I shut down.

Wait if you can until new bios gets released.

Unfortunately MSI is still in limbo in terms of their BIOS. You should wait up to 3 days, I'd assume they'll release a BIOS update that will fix all the problems except that BIOS will have no eyecandy.

But again this will take time, they did say earliest by Friday but they got a lot of motherboards to fix so nothing is guaranteed in terms of time.

You will see its 50/50

You only see 50/50 because people who were success are busy playing games on their new rig.

I didnt say I saw 50/50, the guy at a local PC retailer that does BIOS updates as a service was only seeing 50/50, so they would know both sides.

I've done both a MSI B450 Mortar and a X470 Gaming M7 using bios flashback, both worked first time, so that's 100/0 for me!

I used a 8gb SanDisk USB2 stick formatted to fat32, and named the file MSI.ROM

Waited until it switched off, then turned back on, and finally waited another few minutes before powering off and mounting the CPU. Not sure this last part was necessary.

(Also a new Mortar 1.0.0.3ab bios has just appeared).

Anyone else have boot priority issues?

My Mobo is B350M Mortar Arctic and the workaround is simply selecting my OS drive in Boot Override... but that gets old really quick haha.

I've tried everything as far as removing clocks, changing CSM to UEFI, and more!.. but nothing has proven correct.
