I truly just want to sit there in front of those Grande Utopia EM’s for a few hours. That would be about as close as I would ever get to buying any. Thank you Warren, this was so cool!
Got to demo them for about 15 minutes. honestly? They are really good full range towers that you can listen to for hours without any fatigue. That said, I know 15 minutes isn't a long time, but what was interesting was how little 100k or more buys you compared to a well setup system that you put time and thought into. I think my system is like a very small fraction of the cost of Utopias and the big assed Mac mono blocks, plus expensive preamp, and a Naim digital streamer. I think they also had that 4500 dollar Mac room correction box.
Anyway. Insane money. A house, cash. A good 401k balance. Whatever. Absolute fuck you money. Extravagance for the mega rich. It just seemed like a well designed system at a fraction of the price gets scary close. And that's why the dealer pulled me out, although we had all the time in the world since I was the only customer.
