Shp9500 are really easy to drive. Almost any pair of headphones will be improved by a dac amp, but for something like the 9500's I don't expect anything more than you paid for them to be worth it. There are plenty of cheap dac amps around that price range, whether or not I'll get skinned alive for recommending them is another issue. Something like a fiio e10k, SMSL SD-793II, smsl m3, or the syba Sonic might be worth getting.
