Enlightenment | Carry your heart on your tongue

This is an experiment.
These are my thoughts.
This is unfiltered.

Wow. Life. Always overwhelming to discover and always good for a ride on the wave of coincidence and enlightening encounters. These can cause change and feelings that lead to something that was previously considered impossible having a perfect timing at this point in life, even though you probably did not know that. These moments, as fragile and rare as they are, I try to hold in these words and call them: Enlightenment.

I have to confess, this article is as unclear to me as any one before what I actually want to express. Usually there is a jumble of thoughts in my head that almost screams to be caught in written words. And just then, as I begin to formulate, type, and see what those thoughts are, that's when the order is created this mess is searching for all the time. Syllable by syllable, word by word, phrase by phrase, and I get into a kind of flow and clarity that inspires me again and again. Enthusiastic to write, dare to think thoughts, to formulate them and even to make them visible for everything and everyone. I like to describe this as a film scene from Harry Potter in which Albus Dumbledore pulls out some "threads of thoughts" from his head and lets them flow into a Pensieve. The thought always retrievable but still out of my head, I find this metaphor so beautiful and I feel so similar while writing.

It makes the head clearer, more ordered and at the same time it creates a certain possibility to look at your thoughts from the outside and to give you order, meaning and structure. From this need, I often start to write, even if there is no clear topic at the moment. For me, these moments of clarity and enlightenment arise most intensely in the interpersonal, in conversations, gestures and everything that belongs to it. You can get to levels that are just overwhelming. The most beautiful thing about this is, that it happens on its own and you do not have to summon it. It's like being around your whole life, even when you first meet, or maybe when you meet again after a long time and then you realize how much you resemble each other in many things and what views you share. Once that's realized, it's just that way out, and that's something that hits on interested ears, the shortest moments can feel like half an eternity, and be more precious as many other phases you got over in life. So the most coincidental encounters and moments can lead to conversations and situations you can learn from so much, like you never thought. In deep thinking conversations ranging from the deepest valleys to the highest mountains, no topic is too freakish, too daring or too boring. Something can happen that I have experienced recently. The deeper such conversations can go and the more you can see your own views, opinions and positions in this world. For the opposite, it may sound like you've always thought that way, and you've known how to stand on certain things for ages, but the opposite is the truth. Maybe you know the exact position you have in certain things, but you can not define it clearly. Some things just have to be articulated, formulated, and perhaps written first, before realizing that this is what you feel, what you believe in, or what you stand for. In these moments, the insights and experiences are so intense and omnipresent that you chase even more for the next one and can't get enough of this bubbling cocktail.

It is often said so beautiful: You should find yourself first, find your inner peace, your own center. Helping yourself to help others. Exactly those moments that I described earlier are where exactly this happens. For a long time you can live on them and you will always discover new and more aspects that emerge from these moments, the more often you remember them.

Suddenly spongy ideas and almost unbelievable assumptions about what you like to do or makes you happy are tangible and visible. From one second to the next, you know more about yourself, what you want to do and who you want to be. And then it is important to just accept it, doing it or being it. Dare. Attempt. Try. Shine. Fail. Lose. Only when you will do this, it possible to truly come closer to yourself and to recognize and find your place in this world. Whatever it is, what makes you the one you want or should be, you will never be if you do not try.

I see a lot of distractions, unthinking consumption, or things that are far from fulfilling yourself and that cause widespread dissatisfaction in many life situations. A displeasure that is at some point hardly tangible and whose cause with all the time in which it exists, is increasingly difficult to find. I believe that escape into the distraction and thus the sought cause is the pure fear of finding yourself. To be alone, to feel lonely, to discover who you are and what you want. Maybe you discover someone who you never wanted to be or you'll be even scared or impressed to overwhelmed about whom you find there. This could change many things in your life. That can be positive as well as negative. But there are and remain changes and many people are afraid, respected or worried. Humans are beings of habit and are only too happy to deviate from any change that is associated with much work and transformation, or even beginning to demand too much of our daily attention. But this is about our most tender and fragile possession we will ever have on earth: our soul.

And isn't she worth being cared for more than anything else?

The rare encounters with others and those conversations can give you, for a breath of a moment, clarity and enlightenment that you probably would never have been able to get to the bottom of. This only shows me how important it is to express your thoughts and feelings and not let them disappear into the eternal depths of your own mind's palace. This is the best way to reflect on yourself and especially the view of our life from the outside, so from other people, can create magical moments here.

Such a magical moment can freeze you for so long and give you goose bumps that blow you away. Those have inspired this post with a bang that could not have come at a better time.

These moments and emotional explosions can pull you out of everyday life with a breathtaking jolt. For a few seconds or minutes, it feels like a tremendous eternity, facing you with a surprised, confused, astonished and almost revered eye. You get a moment, a gift of memory, whose meaning and impact for the future are so great that you immediately feel it and realize how valuable and important this moment is. A quick glimpse of your own life from what is known but much more alien than you might think, or of recurring but still binded, can provide an encounter whose emotions are simply strong, positive, joyful and yes, enlightening. There may be ties to levels that may have always been there, but were hidden and faded out by coincidences, events, and diversions of life.

You walk through the winter darkness in the artificial light of the troubled city and wait in the course of reason in front of a red traffic light. Suddenly you read something, hear something or perceive something, a presence, a message, some news and you immediately recognize the special and extraordinary significance of these precious seconds. Satisfied smiling, you go your next steps, because you know that was something that can change both, little and big things in your life. You feel fine. You feel proud. You feel fulfilled. You feel floating and, above all, one thing: Enlightened.
