Average temp of 72.8 isnt bad at all on air. It's nothing crazy and pretty normal for a regular gaming load

Not to pick on you OP but a lot of people are focusing on temps here but have no idea what a good range for temps is. You're well within range to be fine. Your CPU spiked in temp at 90, fans started pushing more air through and then it leveled out.

Stop stressing about it

I absolutely don't! Thank you for the reply, I'm a bit more at ease now

This is a little toasty for that socket power. You should see a few spikes into the 80s assuming you are using g the box cooler, maybe 90 in prime.

I would suggest reseating the cooler with a high quality paste to try and shave off some degrees.

What is your ambient?

With the new 3000 series chips the hotspots aren't centered in the IHS like literally every cooler on the market is designed to handle, so for now the coolers aren't going to be fully effective until one comes out that is designed for the offset chiplet thats in the corner of the IHS. One thing you can try to do is to make sure you have good contact on the corner third of the IHS that the chiplet is in, focus on that corner instead of focusing on the middle. Then try it out and see if you get better results

Great reply. I'll adjust and let you know, thank you!

Also try looking at your cooler, idk what one you're using, but if you're using one that has full heatpipe coverage for the entire IHS, then you should be good to go, and just make sure your thermal paste application covers whatever corner the chiplet may be in.

I'm using an Arctic Freezer 34. I'll check the thermal paste application tomorrow and make sure that the corners are covered. If I remove the cooler do I have to clean and reapply the thermal paste?

Yes you have to re-apply and clean everything when you take it off the IHS. It sucks, but it's best practice.
