The real question is why we're selling such new military equipment to Muslim countries. Not just Turkey, not just this administration. The US has been doing this shit for far too long. The military industrial complex needs to be pulled back to where it doesn't feel the need to sell weapon systems to terrorists in order to show shareholders enough profits.

Turkey is still in NATO. Leaving that aside, though, we've always sold decent but not state-of-the-art equipment to these shit holes to try to keep production numbers high enough to maintain production, maintenance, and quality at some semblance of reasonable price. In many cases, these weapons systems would not exist at all, even for us, if we could not defer the cost by selling overseas.

It's fun to say, and I'm all for reducing corruption and eliminating $600 hammers, but [No Military Industrial Complex] = [No Military]. There is no middle path there.

There really needs to be a better way than the shitshow that has been happening lately and things like the F-35 production & supply chain.

Absolutely agree with that. Program management across Navy and Air Force is a disgrace.
