America's lies: How neoliberalism built upon a century of lying to the public for wealth to the rich and propaganda to the poor.
In order to know where you're going, you have to know where you've been. The last century has brought us to a new Cold War to replace the last one. But how did this start? In essence, you can trace this to one person: Henry Wallace.
Bear in mind that history is continuous. But all the problems that we face can go back to a pattern that started with the author of Century of the Common Man and would have ushered in a century of progressive ideals taking over America. Henry Wallace should have been president after FDR's death. Instead, we got a coup. and this pattern would continue against progressives for the next century. From George Mcgovern being screwed to Bernie Sanders in 2016, every presidential nominee was tackled by the Democratic Party to stifle their progressivism and maintain their votes.
While this was happening on the presidential side, you also had a war being fought against left wingers. The FBI suppressed Puerto Rico to keep it being exploited by corporations, the Deep State overthrew left wing governments abroad and America's foreign policy in Central America shows how we Harvest Empire there.
What has America done? It created the imperial state that we currently live in. Destroying its neighbors, destroying the labor of America, we've had a war on even the IDEA of socialism.
The CIA destroyed nations, then denies it and blames those nations for the failures and murders it commits. Remember: They lie, cheat, and steal. And they focus on interfering with the media all the time along with drug running and other details that people should be looking into.
Why am I giving all this context? Because any attack on the base word "socialism" or "communism" is ignoring the art of empire to make you hate a word while the propagandist picks your pocket. While the CIA and FBI destroyed alternatives to capitalism (your employer screwing you for profit), they also destroyed left wing movements here in America so that you had no choice but to be trapped with the destruction that capitalism rendered for everyone that wasn't rich.
This comes through with the policies of the past: The New Deal. The New Deal is a mixed bag of legislation, built on a coalition between socialists, communists, and unions.
GERALD HORNE: You alluded to a number of the examples, that is to say, with regard to the Social Security program seeking to exclude categories of workers where Blacks tended to flock, such as agricultural labor in particular. I should also mention that with regard to housing programs, recent scholarship has suggested that New Deal housing programs did not erode Jim Crow neighborhoods. They helped to fortify Jim Crow neighborhoods.
However, before we go too far in that direction, I should also mention some of the positive benefits of the New Deal, particularly the so-called Wagner Act, the National Labor Relations Act, which was a kind of Magna Carta for the organizing of the industrial north and the industrial Midwest. This led to the formation of the United Auto Workers, United Steel Workers in particular and they tended to organize many Black workers within their ranks. Then, after those unions were organized, they were able to use the dues money of those workers to support anti-Jim Crow initiatives. In some ways, it’s fair to say that the New Deal was a mixed bag for African Americans.
The point being, that since 1946, when Republicans took over the House and began undoing the New Deal, their coalition of right wing forces began undoing the coalition of left wing forces. Communists became the agents of a foreign power (Russia) instead of part of the WWII effort that defeated Nazis and took the most casualties for fighting against the Germans with very little help from Allies (who didn't want them to win and had the fascists target them since Churchill hated Stalin.)
The Soviet Union lost around 27 million people during the war, almost half of all World War II deaths. One of every four Soviet citizens was killed or wounded in that war.
In essence, America started the Cold War because of the Dulles Brothers and Hoover instead of focusing on the values of people like Henry Wallace and George McGovern.
From the top down, the "Deep State" created the conservatives that would form from their fearmongering. Instead of understanding what communism or socialism is, the CIA and FBI launched campaigns against both and conflating what they were. FBI raids on schools and COINTELPRO became the Age of McCarthyism to run the country through fear.
Now... Advance all of this effort in making you afraid of socialism and communism as done by the intelligence agencies to destroy left wing movements that were the hardest hit by this unequal system.
You now have the FBI admit they stifled progressives. You have dissent being targeted by the FBI as found out during Occupy.
And you find out that capitalism sucks... What do you do?
Do you go more corporate and right wing into the hands of the FBI or against it? This is how socialism and communism were vilified. Through lying, cheating, and stealing. This is how your labor went to the rich. Lying, cheating, and stealing.
No immigrant ever took your job. Your employer took it somewhere else so he could make more money.
The police lied to keep their power and murder more lefties. This is but a small sample of the lies told to us daily. That the FBI and CIA are the good guys. Their entire purpose is to protect the rich and powerful.
Yours is to work to death.
Welcome to America.
